Fierce Focus #1: Lauren Boebert
“There is a battle for the heart and soul of our country that I intend on helping win."
Lauren Boebert first popped onto the scene back in 2019, when she confronted Democratic presidential wannabe Beto O’Rourke — remember him? — while he was stumping in her home state of Colorado.
Lauren Boebert drove three hours from Rifle, openly carrying a handgun, to confront the presidential contender. She owns Shooters Grill in Rifle on Colorado’s Western Slope (where the waitstaff open carry loaded firearms in the establishment).
“I was one of the gun owning Americans who heard you speak regarding your ‘Hell yes I’m going to take your AR-15s and AK-47s. Well, I’m here to say hell no you’re not.'”
An activist was born that day. Boebert went on to collect signatures to prevent Colorado’s liberal state legislature from joining the National Popular Vote Compact, which would award electoral votes based off the popular vote. She ran for Congress in Colorado’s 3rd district, won handily, and became part of the GOP freshman class of (mostly) fierce defenders of freedom.
Since arriving in DC, Rep. Boebert has certainly made waves, particularly over her steadfast support for President Trump, desire to ensure fair and legal elections, and her insistence on carrying her Glock on the streets of DC and through the halls of Congress. These positions haven’t gained her many friends amongst the political elite, presumably to her delight.
There was a slight hiccup last week when Ben Goldey, Rep. Boebert’s director of communications, resigned “following the events of January 6th.” This could mean many things, including Goldey genuinely feeling unsafe in an environment in which the Democrats feel emboldened to silence conservatives. Or he could be distancing himself from Boebert in an attempt to make his resume more appealing to the establishment wing of the Republican party. That wouldn’t be surprising, considering the number of staffers who prematurely left the Trump White House for similar reasons. In DC, your LinkedIn profile is everything.
No matter. It’s highly unlikely this matter will trip up Boebert, who took to Twitter yesterday to vow: “I will never back down to the left. You have my word.”

Quotes
"You cannot change the rules of an election while it is underway and expect the American people to trust it."
“I don't go to work in an armored vehicle, I don’t have personal police escorts--I am my own security here and my most basic right is the right to defend myself.”
“Democrats have normalized violence and proved it to be an effective tool to advance an agenda. They now have the control they’ve been pursuing and their first act is a social media purge. Republicans have to end this attack on free speech.”
“I’m fighting with everything I have to defend our 2A rights!”
“The Democrats are looking to make an example of this dynamite freshman GOP class. These attacks aren’t unique to me. They are straight out of the Democrat playbook. They don’t want anyone to know ordinary, God-fearing Americans can come to DC and be effective.”
“I see many companies are refusing to donate to any Congressman who stood up for election integrity. Fine by me. I’d rather have campaigns funded by WE THE PEOPLE rather than big corporations anyway. I’m here to work for the people who elected me! Is that allowed?”
