Welcome to the inaugural edition of Fierce, the newsletter about conservative women and politics. I had imagined this first issue would be chock-full of tidbits about how the freshman class of GOP women had taken DC by storm, ready to challenge the establishment. And there is some of that, thankfully.
I am writing this on Thursday evening, after what can only be described as a disquieting week. The dust hasn’t even begun to settle on the two big events: the Capitol Hill protest and the certification by Congress of electoral votes, and I’m still at a loss of what to make of it all.
What I do know is this: America is full of very good, patriotic people that want to see our country — and all of her citizens — succeed and prosper. And, hopefully, a few of them were just sworn into the freshman class of Congress.
And that’s what this newsletter is all about: the women of the GOP freshman class. They are a diverse group of patriotic conservatives. They are wives, mothers, business owners, immigrants, gun owners, pro-life advocates and lovers of liberty.
I’ll be honest with you — I have high expectations for these ladies … and very little tolerance for nonsense. They were sent to DC to stir things up, and the hopes of many conservatives looking for leadership are squarely on their capable shoulders. Let’s hope they are not like some of the ladies who were swept into office on the coattails of the Tea Party, only to decide they REALLY liked being a DC insider. Just ask former-Rep. Renee Ellmers what happens when you sell out to the political class.
This newsletter will take form over the coming weeks as the new Congresswomen settle into their roles and the legislative session really gets going. This week, I’d like to highlight our Fierce Force in their own words, plus let you in on some facts and, yes, interesting tidbits, about them.
My favorite so far? Lauren Boebert, without a doubt. She’s going to be fun to watch. On the other hand, I am bit concerned about Nancy Mace. She’s got all the right creds, but, damn, does she love a news camera. Her face is all over CNN and MSNBC this week, and that ain’t good. Courting the mainstream media never works out for conservatives — either you compromise your principles to make them like you or they turn on you and make your life miserable. Let’s hope Rep. Mace soon puts her focus back on the important work at hand.
Okay, enough from me! Let’s get to know the ladies of the Fierce Force. Be sure to read through to the end, where the Smart Girl Politics community offers the new Congresswomen some sage advice!

Advice from some Smart Girls.
“Do you what you say...Say what you mean. Make your Mama proud!”
“Stand strong. Don't be a sell out. Don't be intimidated. Don't be a RINO. Fight for the USA we love!”
“Stand your ground. You are our voice. ( And there are a lot of us.)”
“Always put The USA first!! Be patriotic.”
“Pray daily for wisdom and humility. Never back down. Talk about WHY what the Squad proposes is wrong and HOW you want to make it right. Stay classy.”
“Don't get caught up in the media limelight. While they won't get any press from the MSM unless they say or do something that gets attention, they will be lifted up by conservative media. Don't get caught up. Hundreds of Congressmen and women go to DC and quietly and efficiently do their jobs. Don't sell out your constituents by taking money from lobbyists. Finally, term limit yourself.”
“Don’t court the media. The people who will respond to thoughtful policy and common sense already know where the mainstream media is. If you’re liked by the media, we know you’re not working for us.”
“America FIRST. America last. America always.”
