Hi Teri - once a week is good. Thanks for doing this!

I would like 1-2 emails a week. I won't read more than that.

What about highlighting "fierce" women in politics no matter their specific position? There arr a few governors who you could spotlight. Maybe throw in stand outs at a more local level? Maybe not a specific location but if you catch wind of someone doing something spectacular at a local level of government, highlight that!

Hello Teri,

Once per week is fine.

The past year has been difficult for everyone. I'm struggling with issues relating to Covid that has personally affected my family. The capital events last week occurred in the midst of another hospital stay for my husband, who's been battling for his health since Christmas. The vitriol on both sides does not help our country fight the pandemic or heal what is at the core of dissent. Political debate does not exist in today's climate. It requires listening, and no one listens. I do - as a 69 year old conservative woman I have friends, family and acquaintances that do not share the same beliefs - but I listen and try to understand why they feel strongly about their positions. Until we all can open our minds and hearts for honest debate and realize that somewhere in the middle are answers we can all live with this situation will go on and on.

I don't mind twice weekly emails. Like someone else said, more than that and I don't always read them--despite my best intentions.

What do I want to see now? Honestly, I would love some perspective. Some sanity would be nice. I'd like to see more of the voices who are resisting this wholesale jump into... I don't even know what, but it's not good.

It feels like we're caught in a sort of riptide, where high tensions and hyperbole are pulling all of us ever further away from shore--away from the fact that 39% of Americans don't have faith that our election was legitimate. And a shocking number of people who are supposed to represent us are simply... glossing over all that. And maybe they expect us to be distracted by the high drama and over the top rhetoric, but when the dust all settles, we're still left with a lot of citizens who feel like their concerns were ignored. Or worse, gaslit. (Gaslighted? No, I'm pretty sure it's gaslit.)

I'm concerned that the conversation has been shifted away from the important thing, the thing that actually IS a threat to our democracy, and focus has instead been placed on this exercise in hypocrisy that isn't going to fix any of the American people's immediate concerns. It's evident a lot of people in Washington have an axe to grind. And I don't know about anyone else, but I am so very incredibly weary of this tribal axe-grinding.

My concern re: Nikki Haley is that if she "becomes" fierce, it'll be an act she drops at the first opportunity. That's unfortunate, because there was a time when I really admired her. Right now, I'd prefer to know more about and hear from Kristi Noem--if you're looking for people outside of Congress to include?

I love what you're doing here, and I'm looking forward to more.

Hi Teri,

Thank you for having the courage to step forward at a time fraught with unknowns and seemingly devoid of courageous individuals.

Obviously, there is no reason to be afraid, but fear seems to be the dominant trait of our world/society and fear is no basis on which to build.

So many aspects of our daily lives have been weaponized to our detriment because we have been too lazy to maintain our God-given rights and inherent responsibilities.

All successful life demands hard work and a commitment to freedom and the rights of each and every member of the Human Family. Without such commitment and concern for others we find our thoughts and concerns increasingly focussed inward in a selfish spiral resulting in billions of tiny unconnected and uncaring entities.

As an individual island I am incapable of virtually any and all attributes which define me as Human. I am merely a somewhat complicated version of the trillions of Carbon based life forms floating through this reality; no beginning, no end of note, and no genuine reality, as our individual being can only be defined by our relationships with others of our ilk.

Most Sincerely

Douglas E. Darling

I generally like the once a week. However, when things are more chaotic and/or urgent, a second email during the week would be great for keeping in the loop. Thank you!

1-2 emails/week is ideal for me. Much more then that and I won’t have time to actually read them.
